I attended a MasterClass presented by Fab on solar passive design and sustainable building. We got talking after the class and booked in a zoom meeting to discuss our project. We were living in a home that we were planning on demolishing to make way for our new build. We had started to explore our options, we spoke to 2 of project builders, spent around 6 months talking to each to realise we needed a custom home, we then engaged an architect but the outcome was not what we wanted. We were still searching for someone that shared our vision for our forever home.

We were concerned the builders were not listening to what we wanted from our home. The builders I spoke to did not give me any confidence they had the expertise to advise in this area, it even felt like they were dismissive of the concept. We wanted an energy efficient home but we didn’t have the knowledge to ensure it would be as efficient as our budget could afford and without the builder on board we felt we couldn’t achieve it anyway. Passive house was not an option financially.

We were concerned about the budget being blown, the more details and information we gained the more we found the initial price was never the complete price and it led us to distrust the builders.

Having someone who put our needs first, Fab had our best interests at heart throughout our whole journey, even before we 'signed' with him.

Being able to use his knowledge in the budget management meant we could make informed decisions about the design of our home and the block itself. His knowledge on solar passive design and which energy efficiency upgrades provided the most benefit on our budget was invaluable. His expertise in the general building process being able to explain this to me put my mind at ease every step of the way. Fab was able to guide us towards a builder most suited to us and our circumstances and negotiate contracts on our behalf, notice discrepancies or inconsistencies that would otherwise have gone unnoticed and could have caused difficulties or confusion further down the line.

We would 100% recommend Fab's services to others. I wanted to educate myself as much as possible about the principles that drove our home design and of the process we were about to embark on, The MasterClasses were great for exactly that. The one-one consultation consolidated for us, that Fab was the right person to take our project forward. Our values and vision aligned and I felt Fab really understood what we wanted to achieve, he gave us the details required to fully understand and make informed decisions for the next steps.

We attended the ‘How to Set and Stick to Your New Home Building Budget’ workshop. We were interested in understanding the total cost to build and how to develop a robust estimate that we could budget for.

The other area of interest for us was controlling actual costs vs budget.

One of the most valuable outputs from the workshop was the budget planner tool that Fab makes available to those interested in gaining an understanding of the total cost of build. The tool’s value was fully realised after the workshop event. By that time we had a full understanding of the cost of building including site preparation, the actual build cost along with the additional costs incurred by the Owner’s choice of selections and standard of finish.

We were able to adjust our budget to suit the scope and standard of our new home project that we had decided on. Dana and I consider the budget workshop a fundamental learning event that all prospective Owner’s should attend before embarking on the development of a new home.

The knowledge gained in conjunction with the budget tool will ensure there are no major surprises once the build contract is signed.

We had previously been looking at established houses and finally made the decision to build again. We were a little blind with what was involved with a three story build however Fab was honest and open from our first discussion. There was nothing hidden and this was also the reason we appreciated his leadership in this space.

Cost was one of the main concerns. We wanted to build our “forever home” however with the market changing so rapidly we had anxieties about what we could afford.

The other was that we wanted someone who understood what Georgie and I wanted. The ideas we had (mainly Georgie) was exactly replicated from Fab and the amazing team (Matt, Janine, Dean and now Curtis). It is very hard to find a builder that has the ability to adapt to the client – usually builders always put their spin on a build detracting from the clients original dream house. Both Georgie and I felt that Fab was 100% aligning with what we were hoping to build and we could not be happier with the end design and where we are up to at present..

Fab is personable, knowledgeable and 100% genuine. He truly has a passion for what he does and this comes through in every meeting. I am amazed at the level of performance that he continually delivers. Great person with amazing experience. Has the ability to listen to everything the client is saying and can then articulate this back through the home design. 100% would recommend Fab. If Georgie and I were to build again, there would be no one else that we would trust, now that we have worked with Fab and the team. He is genuine and wants the best for all of his clients.

He treated us as if we were his only clients and gives his time generously.

I completed the design and budget calculator and Fab contacted me as a result of that. I was impressed to see that feature as it gave me confidence that my build was achievable up front , before spending a lot of time with a specific builder before getting pricing which can often be the case with custom builds

I had just purchased a property with a view to demolishing and building , having downsized from a large family home in the same suburb. My main concerns were finding a builder that I could trust to take the build to completion without me having to organise a lot of finishing trades, also that it could be done on budget and most importantly in the current climate that it could be progressed in a reasonable time frame.

Fab was very approachable and easy to work with. He was open and honest and always responded promptly to any questions or changes. I always knew what the timeframe for each stage was so I wasn’t left wondering when I would get updated plans etc. He came up with a great initial design which didn’t need much tweaking to finalise and there were no surprises in the costing process.

Currently the brickwork is being done on my new home and I am very excited to watch the progress of the build !

I would recommend Fab without hesitation- it had been a pleasure working with him. He is very friendly and easy to talk to but at the same time very professional. Through the whole process he has been transparent and open. He took on board my ideas and needs and came up with a great design and I am really looking forward to seeing it finished. The whole team so far have been fantastic to deal with and I am confident I am going to love living in my new home.

We first met Fab when we sent out an initial enquiry to about the possibility of building our new family home. We contacted a number of builders around that time and from the first phone contact Fab really stood out from the crowd. His in depth knowledge and calm and friendly demeanour immediately put us at ease and he set to work really getting to know us, our present situation and what we ultimately wanted to achieve for our new home.

When we started our building journey we were living in a modest sized family home in Wembley Downs with two children under the age of five. We were looking to buy a block of land in a surrounding suburb and build a larger family home that would last well into the future.

Our primary concerns were purchasing a suitable block of land that would accommodate the type of design we wanted whilst also avoiding extensive site works and budget escalations throughout the building process. Fab expertly stepped us through both these processes. He invited us along to one of his very first information sessions and we walked away feeling confident that we knew what to look for and how to manage and stick to a budget.

One of the many benefits of working with Fab is that he really listens to you, he knew what we were looking for and understood us and the type of home we wanted for our family. He also made himself available to us to provide the guidance we needed when we needed it. The day we sat down with Fab to look at the plans for our new home we were honestly blown away. We were so impressed at the attention to detail, functional inclusions and adherence to the brief, it was like he knew what we wanted better than we did!

We have now been living in our new home in Mount Claremont for just over 12 months and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We will be forever grateful to Fab and the team for their professionalism, support and expertise in creating such a beautiful home in which to raise our family. We would (and so often do) highly recommend them to anyone looking for an incredible building experience.

Initially my husband and I had never had any interest in building as we are both indecisive people who struggle with the visualisation process but after 18 months of house hunting we decided to take the plunge and build our dream home. We were referred by a few friends who had experience with the team or individuals in the company. After our first meeting with Fab we had no hesitation that we wanted to run with Fab. Fab was super approachable and listened to our thoughts and got to understand us as customers. Given our inexperience Fab was able to direct our ideas and budget to the absolute best direction for our family. He was able to visualise our ideas when we could not and put pen to paper and make it all work, he also made sure we run within budget and was always keeping us in check when our ideas may have run away with us or would come up with more appropriate ideas for the style of home we are building. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he was happy to run different iterations of the same thing to make sure we got things perfect. We are now just about to start building with the slab being laid next week which is very exciting. I would highly recommend Fab to anyone who is looking to build for the first time or even if it not, he has a huge amount of industry knowledge and has great innovative ideas on a smaller or bigger budget, he is highly approachable and never makes anything feel too much trouble, he is highly invested and keeps across the details even when the build has commenced, he is definitely a gem in the WA build market 😊

The ‘Finding and Selecting the Right Building Block’ Masterclass was a fantastic session for us to attend before we embark on our journey to building a home. It was great to have the opportunity to receive independent advice from someone so knowledgeable. Fab’s presentation was well-paced, easy to understand and contained heaps of useful information. His thoroughness and expert knowledge in relation to subdivisions was particularly valuable and we got a lot out of the class. Definitely recommend if you are thinking of building!
